Our Story
Welcome to Rosemary’s, where our passion for seasonal Italian cooking and neighborly hospitality fuel our mission to bring people together. What is now a restaurant brand with three locations in New York, started back in the 1980s at my family’s kitchen table where every night my mom Rosemary poured her heart into cooking for me and my dad, Raul.
While we moved around a lot when I was young — Europe, Asia, US — a few constants shone through: my father’s cherished copper pots that hung next to the kitchen table in every kitchen, and my mom’s devotion to her guests, expressed through her meticulous table settings and delicious cooking.
Years later, when I began visiting my folks at their home in Lucca, with their gorgeous vegetable garden, or orto, and view from the dinner table overlooking the valley, I knew that I wanted to share their simple, elegant and heartfelt expression of hospitality with the world.
Since opening Rosemary’s in the West Village in 2012, with its rooftop farm, string lights and view overlooking Jefferson Market Garden — all inspired by my folk’s home — the restaurant has grown into a neighborhood institution beloved by all walks of life.
Over the years we’ve partnered with many incredible local groups, who share our values and passion for environmental stewardship and community engagement — from Brooklyn Grange, to PS41, to God’s Love We Deliver.
